Visualization Tips and Manifesting for ADD: Creating the Life you Desire for Those of Us with Wander

Dear You,

A few months ago I finally discovered a visualization technique that actually works for me, and maybe this will work for you, too, if your thought process tends to be a bit diffuse like mine!

Typically what would happen for me is after about fifteen seconds my mind would scatter in various directions. I might go from thinking about the desired outcome, to things I have to do later that day, to worries about the future, regrets about the past, and on and on to the point where I would feel exhausted. Not exactly the state want to be in when you are doing a visualization exercise. Ideally, we want to feel relaxed and receptive.

So, the following is the solution I discovered.

First: set up your environment

First, I set up my environment to optimize a relaxed state with no interruptions. I then decide on something I want more of in my life. This could be a state I want to feel more of, such as contentment, or something I want to have in my life, such as an item or more money. Once I decide on what I want, I write it down a few times or journal about it. Sometimes I just wrote down a series of words that represent that thing that I want. I always write it on paper because I think the physical act of writing help me ground.

Next: visualize yourself having that thing you desire

Next, I close my eyes and visualize myself having that thing I desire. As soon as I get an image, I open my eyes and make a note of it. Then I close my eyes and go back into the visualization. As soon as another detail of the visualization comes into my awareness, I open my eyes and jot that down. I then close my eyes and go back into the visualization, continuing with this process. The process of visualizing and immediately making a quick note of it and then immediately going back into the visualization keeps me anchored in the experience. Each time I go back in I allow the visualization to grow. This is my imagination taking over, which is my goal.

As Dr. Joe Dispenza says, we want to break

the habit of being ourselves.

I want to imagine what I want my future to look like. If I want something different I know that creating a vision and feeling what it feels like to have that thing are important steps in making that new thing happen. If I am not imagining something new, then I am going to recreate what I already have. As Dr. Joe Dispenza says, we want to break the habit of being ourselves.

Notice a felt sense of having that thing

Once I have gone through the process several times, if I pay attention, I will begin to notice a felt sense of having that thing. I then become curious about this felt sense, I feel into it, then I open my eyes and write it down. Then, I go through this process several times until I am really visualizing and feeling what it’s like to have this thing. All law of attraction material I have come across emphasis the importance of visualizing what you want and feeling what it is like to have it, so my goal is always to experience having “it” as much as possible.

Last, I may or may not listen to some relaxing music, meditate, do yoga, or an another energy practice.

I spend about ten to twenty minutes doing this practice in the morning. For me that is enough time to allow myself to settle into the felt sense of the new experience I am creating. Some days I spend more time, but I would suggest at least ten to twenty at the least.

I prefer mornings because it helps me set the course for the day. I also sometimes practice this in the evening or during the day.

If you choose to give this a try, feel free to let me know how it worked for you, or if you’d like to explore working together.

If you’d like help clearing away blocks, I’d love to hear from you. I blend together EFT, hypnosis, EMDR, Havening and other mind-body-energy techniques to help people release old patterns and create positive change in their lives.
